Properties:
Lincomycin is a Lincosamides antibiotic effective against gram-positive bacteria including staphylococcus , streptococci ,anaerobes & also mycoplasma but has little activity against gram-negative organism.
Composition:
Each one gram contain:…………………………………………..453.6 mg lincomycin hydrochloride (equivalent to 400 mg of lincomycin base).
Indications:
Poultry &Turkey: For treatment of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens susceptible to lincomycin in broiler chickens.
Dosage & Route of administration:
Chicken (broiler) Necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens: The daily dose is 20 mg lincomycin per kg of body weight once daily for 3-5 days. * 1 gm lincol 40% per 16 kg of body weight once daily in drinking water for 3- 5 days. If clinical signs of respiratory or enteric disease persist 48 hours after the first injection, an additional dose at 1 ml/30 kg body weight may be administered.
Warning& Precaution:
Lincosamides may cause fatal enterocolitis in horses, rabbits & rodents. Accidental administration of feedstuff concomitant with trace amounts of lincomycin to cattle may cause a drop in milk production, in appetence, diarrhea and in some cases ketosis.
Contra – Indication:
Not to be given to breeder and layers producing eggs for human consumption.

Poultry (broiler): Meat: zero days.Poultry (broiler): Meat: zero days.Egg: not applicable.
Storage:
Store dry in well closed packing, below 30 ˚c and protected from light.
