Properties:
Aprapharma: contains Apramycin which is a broad-spectrum aminocyclitol antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces tenebrarius.
Aprapharma is bactericidal at minimum inhibitory concentrations.
Aprapharma is effective against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and some strains of mycoplasma at concentrations of 16 µg/ml or less. It is effective against most field strains of Escherichia coli and salmonellae.
Composition:
Each 84 gm contains:

Target species:
Aprapharma: is indicated for use in calves, pigs and chickens.
Indications:
Aprapharma is indicated for the treatment of bacterial enteritis associated with organisms susceptible to apramycin in pigs, colibacillosis and salmonellosis in calves Escherichia coli septicaemia in young chickens.
Dosage & Route of administration:
Route of administration: orally via drinking water
For whole product :
Calves: 3.3-6.7 gm Aprapharma per 100 kg of body weight, in the drinking water, milk or milk replacer for 5 days.
Chickens: 3.3 – 4.2 gm Aprapharma per 100 kg body weight, this is achieved by adding 84 gm Aprapharma per 100 to 200 liters of drinking water for 5 days.
Warning& Precaution:
- The medicated water should be used as a sole source of drinking.
- The medicated water should be consumed within 24 hours.
Contra – Indication:
Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to apramycin.
Do not use in cats.
Side Effects:
No side effects when used with the recommended doses.
Withdrawal time:
Pigs: Meat: 14 days
Calves: Meat: 28 days
Chickens: Meat: 7 days
Do not use in laying chickens when eggs are intended for human consumption.
Storage:
Stored at temperature not exceed 30 C˚.
