Florfenicol is belonged to the phenicol group, which produces its bactericidal action by inhibition of protein synthesis by binding to the 50s ribosomal subunit. Florfenicol has a broad spectrum of activity affecting on gram positive bacteria such as; Staphylococcus intermedius, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococci Spp. and gram negative bacteria such as; E.coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella multocida and Mannheimia haemolytica
For treatment of coli septicemia in chicken caused by Escherichia coli.
Chicken (except laying chicken producing eggs for human consumption).
Dosage & Route of administration:
Route of administration: orally via drinking water. For whole product: 0.5 gm of Florovetroyal / litre of drinking water per day, for 5 consecutive days. For whole product: 500 gm Madurapharma / ton of finished feed.
Treatment should not exceed 5 days.• Treatment should not exceed 5 days.• If there is no significant improvement after 3 days of treatment, the diagnosis should be reviewed and if necessary the treatment should be changed. • Use of the product during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.
Contra – Indication:
Do not administer in cases of previous allergic reactions to Florfenicol or any of the excipients.• Do not administer in cases of previous allergic reactions to Florfenicol or any of the excipients.• Not used in chicken producing egg for human consumption.
No side effects when used with the recommended doses.
Chicken: 7 days.
