Royalchlorosol

Properties:

Chlortetracycline hydrochloride is a bacteriostatic antibiotic belonging to the tetracycline group, which acts by inhibition of protein synthesis.

Chlortetracycline produce its bacteriostatic action by binding to the 30s ribosomal subunit of susceptible organisms. After binding to the ribosome tetracyclines interfere with the binding of aminoacyl-t RNA to the messenger RNA-molecule/ribosome complex, thereby interfering with the bacterial protein synthesis in growing or multiplying organisms.

Tetracyclines have broad spectrum activity.
