Liquistrep

Properties:

Liquistrep is an oral solution containing streptomycin which is belonging to aminoglycosides, producing its action by inhibiting protein synthesis at level of 30s ribosomal subunit.

Streptomycin is active against gram negative bacteria such as: Escherichia coli and Salmonella.

Composition:

Each one ml contains: Streptomycin 250mg.

Eq. to: Streptomycin sulphate 313.28mg.

Indications:

Broiler chicken:

  • Treatment of Colibacillosis caused by Escherichia coli.
  • Treatment of non-specific infectious enteritis caused by Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. susceptible to streptomycin sulfate.

Calves:

  • Treatment of bacterial enteritis caused by Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. susceptible to streptomycin sulfate.
Dosage & Route of administration:

Route of administration: Orally via drinking water

For whole product:

Broiler chicken:

0.8 – 1.3 ml Liquistrep / liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.

Calves:

0.8- 1.3 ml Liquistrep / liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.

Warning& Precaution:

The medicated water should be consumed within 24 hours.

If favorable results are not obtained in 3 – 5 days, diagnosis should be re-determined.

Contra – Indication:

Don’t use in chicken producing eggs for human consumption.

Side Effects:

Ototoxicity, neuromuscular blockade, and nephrotoxicity are reported most frequently.

Withdrawal time:

Broiler chicken: 4days.

Calves: 2 days.

Storage:

Stored at temperature not exceed 30 C˚.
